If anet find out that a good number of players are willing to spend X dollars on a downloadable expansion, they might consider that more seriously. The way it stands atm there is no real incentive.

Ya i'd buy another expansion for a new elite area, or make it all Elite god areas(missions type or explorable type like UW) ie-
1.Balthazaar's area
2.Lyssa's area
3.Melandru's area
4.Dwayna's area
5.Grenth's area
6.Abbadon's area
oh and as for the idea /signed

If Guild Wars had a monthly fee, then yes, I would expect new content every once in a while. Sadly it doesn't, so Anet really have no obligation to churn out new stuff.
Would be nice though.

Man, I would love for this to happen, but alas I know it's just a dream.
Imagine the number of players that would be brought back into the game with a Sorrow's Furnace-type update...it would definitely extend the longevity of GW1 in anticipation of GW2.

has been suggested to death and isn't quite needed
the lore doesn't state any enemies of those gods and i don't expect any in the meantime, maybe some that pop up in GW2 but that's all

What about Dwayna it would be nice to go to a free place to get ecto and shards with no chests?

These areas would definitely add more interest to the game, and assuming they were of equal or higher quality to the FoW/UW, I'd even consider paying $5-$10 for it, especially if they each had some unique reward.

I agree it is not very likely. The thing is, if GW2 is still far away then a small downloadable expansion that you buy online, containing a new elite area maybe a good way for anet to make some money, and not lose the rest of the GW players to AoC.

I disagree with you on this. Right now, Anet should be worried about keeping their base players interested. A new additon to guildwars would give them that. The more they keep current players happy, the more likely that they will buy guildwars 2. Now, I dont expect to get this for free. If they do good, but I would not mind paying $10.00 or so for the additonal addon as long as is well designed.

No. You want to know why? Because it would take time away from GW2 and severely delay it. Everyone would love more content, but chances are GWEN was the last of the big stuff. Anything else would disrupt ANet's schedule.

I'd prefer if they just released more BMP's. At least that way they gain funds that might be put towards GW2 rather than take away funds from it to make more elite areas.
Also, a bit off topic, but the BMPs should be something you can buy in a store. I don't like having my credit card info floating around in the series of tubes that any knowledgeable hacker could have access to.

I think this would be a great idea. I honestly don't think they will do it anytime soon. To the people who keep saying they wont waste their time doing this because they are too busy working on GW2. I am next to positive that I read somewhere that they will be keeping a team of people dedicated to the original GW and will continue coming out with stuff for it even after GW2 comes out. now plz don't take this as flaming towards the peeps who said that they won't waste their time on this issue. I mean no disrespect at all, I was purely stating what I have read.

I vote for Lyssa Elite Area, c0z melandru is just godess of nature, rangers, and stuff but lyssa is godess of Beauty, illusions, and Cha0s!
Cha0s w0rld with cha0s m0nsters dr0pping cha0s axes and ect0s <3
And it'll be harder for 55hp Bots t0 farm there due t0 ench rem0val by mesmers, or sins causing interrupts..

FoW and UW are not elite areas. Urgoz, The Deep, and DoA are all elite areas. Proph was never given an elite area.
Fyi, which is why FoW and UW are CORE areas-they're not elite.

Im all for another Elite area. But please, dont make it like DoA.
I still venture with my guild into FoW, UW, Tombs, Deep and Warren. We did a full run of DoA last week but that place is just crap.
Other than repeating these and grinding titles there's nothing else left for people to do in GW PvE

Hmmm, that's a toughie. Melandru's would probably be pretty and organic, while Lyssa's would seem to be extravagant and fantastic.
I think I'd go for Lyssa's at this point.

They should put it near the noob areas(ascalon, sjm, and istan). It could serve as a "show off" place for all the up and coming heros. You too can slap the gods around when you reach level 20!
